Our server is ran off a program called Bukkit, it's what most servers run off because it supports load of plugins and other stuff that I don't know of - but it takes time to update after the official update. We will be updating to 1.8 when the 1.8 version of Bukkit is out.

using 1.8 lags realy bad even in single player. so when the update comes for bucket and is stable enough for the server itself we will update it.

you can still wait for the server update with building and stuff ON the server... it is still online but you can't join when you are 1.8

You can still play on the server you know, just not with 1.8, just downgrade lol.

I heard it's too buggy, besides, there are still a few 1.8 patches left, we should wait for them (1.8.2, etc.)

Just make a back up of 1.8.1 then downgrade to 1.7.3
